Some of My Work
In the past couple of years my work has moved to the direction of general home soft goods. One interior designer who keeps me pretty busy and is wonderful to work with is Jennifer Martinez with Quatro Interiors and she decoratored the home below.
I've seen Jennifer create many beautiful homes and I am excited to say she is helping me with my own. Below are some window shades I made for this gorgeous home in West University. The house is currently for sale if you are interested and you can see more pictures here.
In the living room we made huge london shades out of simple inexpensive burlap for all 5 windows and that included the kitchen.

Notice the beautiful pillows. I did not make these particular pillows, but we do make lots of custom pillows.
In the master bedroom we made simple white linen relaxed roman shades inset with a gray/white trim on the sides.
It's just a sneak peak, but I have more beautiful things in the works.

Dreamy Canopy
I was catching up on my favorite blogs when I spied this dreamy room from Little Green Notebook, via Lilly's Notebook, by Lilly Bunn Weekes. I love the notched valences; so beautiful! This would also be cute for a boy's room in blue or a neutral flax color.

I've Got an Orange Crush
I recently completed a new client project with bold orange drapes for a dining room. Jamie, an uber stylish and sophisticated PR professional, has an elegant ecletic style about her home; think Palmer Weiss and Amanda Nisbet.
She wanted a pop of color in this room so we gravitated towards orange, the color that evokes appetite and socializing. The drapes are a gorgeous linen fabric lined with a double liner to give them weight and luxury. The end result was the definite WOW factor we were looking for.

Elevation Update: Progess on our home's exterior
You may be wondering why I've abandoned my blog for a while...let's just say its been for good reasons. First, I am working like crazy to finish client projects and keep the business on track. Below is a beautiful headboard slipcover I made for a local client. She bought the headboard from Restoration Hardware Baby and Child and we slipcovered it in a cotton linen blend with silver/gray flange trim and monogram. I wish this photo was better quality so you could appreciate how beautiful it really is.
Second, we are nearing the end of school and of course that means, school parties, events and lots of time consuming functions.
But third is one of the most exciting reason. We started the exterior overhaul of our house. Remember my original post here? Work is well underway and about 3 weeks behind schedule. Such is life, right? Here are a couple of pictures to share, but remember this is mid way through.
Some Befores
The ugly garden of weeds we purchased. This area was behind a 40" tall brick wall that covered the entire front of the house. I hated this area and knew the wall and weeds were goners.
The hideous and crumbling front door. Don't let the red paints fool you, they are test patches for the new door. The original door was a dark maroon.
The Afters (halfway through completion)
As you can see we painted the entire house Martin Senour's Linen Weave cut in half. It gave the house a clean crisp new look and the color is a clean ivory. We tried a lot of ivory colors and most were too yellow or white. We also resided everything that wasn't brick and ripped out the brick wall. Those mature boxwoods in the front are moving to the side of the house to cover the A/C unit and all new low to the ground beds are going in.
You know you're in bad shape when dirt looks better than what was there before. We removed all the weeds, gravel and random plants and in its place will be a Pennsylvania Blue Stone patio for rocking chairs, wine and lazy afternoons.
Our new door and sidelights. I went for a clean simple design since the architecture of our home is simple and slightly modern. I have always dreamed of a red door so there it is and it's RED! It still needs about 3 more coats of paint, but I am telling myself I'll get used to it. It definitely screams WELCOME. The color is Show Stopper by Sherwin Williams.
Still to come this week are the gas lanterns that will flank the front door and new painted cedar shutters and hardware. I'll post again soon.

Varsity Blues: A Future MVP Nursery
Recently I completed bumpers for a baby boy that to me, said future All American MVP. The bedding is really very simple, yet very baby without the in your face themed bedding. We started with the following fabrics and left the decorating open to many options.
And here is the final product. So cute if I don't say so myself!

Custom Accents for Designer Bedding
These lovelies are on their way to their new home today. The little girl's room already has this beautiful duvet and euro pillow set from Seth and Grayson, but mom wanted a few more accessories to tone it all done a bit.
We custom made for her two linen shams and two bolster pillows along with a beautiful linen bedskirt trimmed in bright pink grosgrain ribbon. Unfortunately I couldn't snap a pic of the bedskirt.
And for her son's nursery we made this monogrammed pillow to coordinate with the Ben crib set from Serena and Lily that was already purchased.

Pink, black & white crib set, on its way to its new home!
Third set out the door this week. This one is for a newborn that just arrived last week. We started with these fabrics.
This chenille is actually white not yellow like in this photo.
And here is the bedding set.
And a closer look with the matching bolster pillow for big sister's bed who will be sharing the room with baby.
And now on to the next order. Check back for more photos.

Gender Nuetral Brown & White Nursery Bedding
Another one bites the dust folks. Here is the second of 4 crib sets I am deliverying this week. As promised I have photographed it for your viewing pleassure. The mother knows she is having a girl, but she wanted the bedding to be made of linen and elegantly understated.
Her primary fabric was this gorgeous chocolate brown and white damask print and everything else was done in solid brown and white linen.
Here is everything she ordered for the nursery, crib bedding, pillow for the glider and a quilt.
Here's just the crib set.
And here's the bedding when she converts the crib to a toddler bed.
I have more toddler bedding photos to share later this week. By the way, I feel the need to clarify, that Jacquelyn Reese Baby, LLC does not recommend placing, bumpers, pillows or blankets of any kind in the crib when the child is in their infant stage. These photos are strictly for photography purposes only and we recommend you discuss with your child's healthcare provider when it is a safe time add such items. You can read more about our Child Sleep Safety recommendations here or visit SIDS.org.

Pink and Black Crib Bedding
I am a nonstop bedding shop right now. Currently I have oh, I don't know, about 20 orders in production. CRAZY! Life is a little hectic right now. Good news for all of you, I am trying to be better about photographing my work to share.
Today I have what I call the Stephanie crib set. Stephanie is a fun and bubbly mother-to-be who came to me with aspirations of a bold pink, gray and black nursery. I have to say, I meet a lot of mothers who fall into the I bet we would be friends category and Stephanie is one of those moms. Her personality is magnetic and she just draws you in.
Below are a few pictures of the fabrics we used and her bedding set. We trimmed all the bumpers in pink grosgrain ribbon and lined the inside of some bumpers in white minky. The crib skirt is a peony pink dupioni silk. I wish I had a picture of the drapes we made, oh well maybe later. Enjoy!

My Studio Sneak Peak
Happy New Year to you all! I hope everyone has been enjoying their holidays as much as I have. The past two weeks has been wonderful. My husband and I decided we were going to take a nice stay-cation break this holiday season and do nothing. So long story short, that's just what we've been up to-a whole lotta nothin'. Plus catching up on all the movies we missed the past year.
I have however, managed to find some time to work on my studio a little. Since we moved into our house 6 months ago I've been focused on family, work and other projects in our home renovation. So I promised myself I would work a little on my studio while I was enjoying my break. Here's a sneak peak and I hope to have it completed soon.

Pink & White and Everything Nice!
Arriving any day now is this sweet and beautiful pink and white bedding for a long distance friend. My friend Shelby is expecting a girl, Avery is her name, and she'll be here before you know it. I had the honor of making Avery's bedding and I was in love with the perfect shade of soft pink and creamy white fabrics.
As usual my amateure photography doesn't do this bedding justice, but trust me it's beautiful. The bumpers are lined in white chenille and the skirt is gathered with a perfect cream grosgrain ribbon to trim the hem. Perfect pink bedding for a perfect little girl. Congratulations Shelby!
