Slam Dunk Fun

What child wouldn’t love a personal indoor sports court?  I was scoping out the beautiful work of Dillon Kyle Architecture when I spotted these awesome rec rooms for kids.  This definitely nurtures a healthy and active lifestyle for kids.  Love.

Organization Envy

I so need one of these in my home.  A place specifically for all your clutter, on-the-go items and kiddy essentials for school, sports and everything else that life brings.  I am truly envious of Miss Seleta from Simply Seleta and hope to one day have one of my own.

Preserving Precious Memories

I have the cutest pinkish red crochet trimmed bikini for my daughter that my dear friend Melissa bought for her on her first birthday.  I love that swimsuit dearly and plan to one day preserve it in a shadow box and hang it in my home.  These pictures are my inspiration.

A girl can dream...

I wish I did not have 50,000 other projects in life right now that I need to finish, because if I didn't I would buy this painting by Janet Hill in a heartbeat.

Sally Wheat Decorates Kids Rooms

One of my favorite local Houston designers thanks to Joni Webb from Cote de Texas (also a fav) is Sally Wheat.  She's a school teacher who found her true calling in decoratoring and has proven herself to be a naturally gifted designer.

One of my guilty pleassures is drooling over the beautiful bedrooms she has designs for her client's children.  Below are my favorites.  You can check out more of Sally's work here.

A Bold Boy's Room

I love the bold and dramatic look of this boy's room designed by Massucco Warner Miller.  It's sophisticated and mature in a juvenile way, IMO.

Tory Burch at Home

This black and cream boy's room in Tory Burch's home speaks to me in so many ways.  I love the elegantly understated design.  Of course I would expect nothing less from Ms. Burch.  To see more photo's of Tory's home click here.

Big Girl Room Inspriation

I think it's safe to say I love this room.  It's so perfect for a little girl transitioning to her tween room.  I need to squirrel this one away for furture reference.

Ice Cream Dreams and Waffles

I love this fun and vibrant breakfast nook featured in Traditional Home magazine.  Styled after a traditional ice cream parlor, it's a setting perfect for food, crafts and fun.

This look would be so easy to duplicate in your own home.  Striped walls with a pale barely there pink on the bottom and that table looks a lot like this oh so chic and affordable Ikea one

A similar chandelier could be found here and spray painted white, then pull it all together with a set of vintage chairs recovered and whoa la!  High style for a steal.

Urban Grace Nursery Update

Hello friends!  The fog has lifted from my Twilight Sage sabatical and it was so much fun.  I am a bit sad the series is over but as they say, all good things must come to an end.  And so now here I am to give my poor little niglected blog some much needed TLC.

First up, one of my very favorite design blogs Urban Grace Interiors posted a nursery update and, of course it's just as lovely as I imagined it would be.  For all the detials click here

Can you tell I am loving the cornices and valences? I want to add one to my daughter's room one day.

The Nursery Diaries

To say that I am anxiously awaiting the final chapter in Erin's nursery posts would be an understatement. I am literally bursting at the seams. I love her design style and would fly her over to decorate my house from top to bottom if I could afford it. Her nursery is sure to be a design masterpiece that I will study like a devoted apprentice. I've blogged about the status of her nursery before, you can read about it here.

Today she has divulged more details and reading her post is like reading the teasers for a TV series season finally. I can't wait! Click here to read her full post.

There’s No Place Like Home

Recently one of my favorite blogs did a focus on interior designer Robyn Karp and I was blown away. Not by the obvious talents for adult spaces, but by the rooms for children. They are gorgeous! He or she (not sure if Robyn is a man or woman) knows exactly how to take a kids room and make it innocent, sweet and fun for the little ones and still ooze high style for mom and dad.

One of my favorites is this little girl’s room ready for a toddler in the first photo, then change the bed and it’s ready for their teen years. Perfect!

And here are more of her fabulous designs.
