Late Halloween Update

So...a little late, but here are few pics from Halloween.  Remember the Mermaid costume dilema post?  Read it here.  Here she is!  My precious baby was so excited to wear this costume.  Not sure why I chose a red top underneath.  Hmm...didn't think that one through very well.  I love that face!

Mom sporting the seaweed boa she wanted nothing to do with.

And here we are the weekend before at the Houston Zoo Boo with our friends Layla and Addison.  Check out my daughter's cute Halloween t-shirt from BabySister Designs

Boutique Chic at Etsy

You don't have to live in a big metropolitan city to shop unique boutique styles.  My favorite place to shop for one of a kind items is Etsy.com.  The Esty community is bursting at the seams with extremely talented artists and designers for adults and children.

Recently Babysisterdesigns was brought to my attention and I was smitten with their line immediately.  My favorites are their cartwheel capris for girls and applique tees.  Check out the precious Halloween tees!

Fun and retro tees.

Casual but stylish capris, do they make these in adult sizes ;)

These looks are just a sneak peek of what's for sale in their Etsy store.  They are debuting their fall line Home Grown Vintage on October 15 in Lakeland Florida so check back often.

Frugal Friday: Paper Pom Love

They're fun, they're festive and frugal!  I love a beautiful paper pom for any occassion.  Everytime I see one it makes me smile and for so cheap how can you resist!  I recently ordered one to hang above my daughter's activity table to act as a faux chandelier for her pretty little play space.  Only $10 and that included shipping!

Check out some of these fabulous pom accents available through numerous etsy stores.

A beautiful birthday or dinner party accent.

A mobile for baby.

Grouped as a bunch for a huge statement.  Wouldn't this be fabulous for a New Years Eve party?
Perfect for a princess party or backyard BBQ!

Pink and Blue-I Love You!

I have mentioned before we are buying a house and I’ve been giving some thought to my daughter’s big girl room. You may remember the room design in an earlier post here. We won’t be updating the nursery until the end of year, but I’m a planner. I like to muse over things for a while and figure out different ways to deconstruct or redesign them. Below are just a few things I’d like to see in her pink and navy room. Of course…I’ve only just begun to scratch the surface.

I want a tole chandelier and plan to paint it a bold pink color. I found these two at
www.greatchandelier.com and they aren’t true tole but close. Truthfully I am hoping to score an eBay bargain but currently nothing listed is striking my fancy.

I’d also love to have one of these dress forms just because they are so fun! Let’s hope www.PBTeen.com keeps them in stock through the end of the year. I am also drawn to this oversized pom pom fringe pillow (white) and it's eco-friendly.

And last, one of my current obsessions is Janet Hill Studio. She’s a Canadian Etsy.com artist that captures everyday settings and beautiful accessories and transforms them into gorgeous oil paintings. I currently own three of her pieces that I plan to hang in my studio. She also reproduces her work into inexpensive and beautiful prints for framing. I love the idea of a few in my daughter’s room. Maybe these…

And if my husband has any say in the matter, there will be one of these. Of course I have veto power.
