Summer Shoe Social

Just got these in the mail from Boden USA and I love them soooooooooo much.  I truly do.

I already have these Jack Rogers in gold and would also like them in silver.  I live in my Jack Rogers during the spring and summer.  In fact, I should take my gold ones to visit the shoe doctor, because they are in need of a little TLC.  They've seen a lot of miles.  I highly recommend these sandals.

While browsing the Jack Rogers web site I spied these silver flats and of course I want these too.

I am saving up my Banana Republic coupons and discounts to buy these must have summer essentials.

I spied these brilliant summer flats at Old Navy.  A linen espadrille flat for summer; how perfect!  Only $19.99; hope they are comfortable.  I may have to try these out and let you know how they feel.
And of course what summer shoe collection would be complete without a new pair of Torys.  I love the Miller Thong.

Oh and maybe the Patti Wedge too.  ;)

Custom Accents for Designer Bedding

These lovelies are on their way to their new home today.  The little girl's room already has this beautiful duvet and euro pillow set from Seth and Grayson, but mom wanted a few more accessories to tone it all done a bit.

We custom made for her two linen shams and two bolster pillows along with a beautiful linen bedskirt trimmed in bright pink grosgrain ribbon.  Unfortunately I couldn't snap a pic of the bedskirt.

And for her son's nursery we made this monogrammed pillow to coordinate with the Ben crib set from Serena and Lily that was already purchased.

Holy Crafty Creations Batman! Another fabulous design by Christie Chase.

My friends, it never ceases to amaze me the insane talents of my friend Christie Chase. She is a real life Martha Stewart for the hip thirty-something’s. She can sew herself a sassy little cocktail number for her dinner party; paint a beautiful canvas piece of art for her living room and then cook up some homemade carnitas for that evening’s festivities, from scratch. I am totally serious the woman can do it all.

So naturally I had to share with you the amazing upholstered letters she custom made for a client. AMAZING!

Pink, black & white crib set, on its way to its new home!

Third set out the door this week.  This one is for a newborn that just arrived last week.  We started with these fabrics.

This chenille is actually white not yellow like in this photo.

And here is the bedding set.

And a closer look with the matching bolster pillow for big sister's bed who will be sharing the room with baby.

And now on to the next order.  Check back for more photos.

Gender Nuetral Brown & White Nursery Bedding

Another one bites the dust folks.  Here is the second of 4 crib sets I am deliverying this week.  As promised I have photographed it for your viewing pleassure.  The mother knows she is having a girl, but she wanted the bedding to be made of linen and elegantly understated.

Her primary fabric was this gorgeous chocolate brown and white damask print and everything else was done in solid brown and white linen.

Here is everything she ordered for the nursery, crib bedding, pillow for the glider and a quilt.

Here's just the crib set.

And here's the bedding when she converts the crib to a toddler bed.

I have more toddler bedding photos to share later this week.  By the way, I feel the need to clarify, that Jacquelyn Reese Baby, LLC does not recommend placing, bumpers, pillows or blankets of any kind in the crib when the child is in their infant stage.  These photos are strictly for photography purposes only and we recommend you discuss with your child's healthcare provider when it is a safe time add such items.  You can read more about our Child Sleep Safety recommendations here or visit SIDS.org.

Tory Burch at Home

This black and cream boy's room in Tory Burch's home speaks to me in so many ways.  I love the elegantly understated design.  Of course I would expect nothing less from Ms. Burch.  To see more photo's of Tory's home click here.

Pink and Black Crib Bedding

I am a nonstop bedding shop right now. Currently I have oh, I don't know, about 20 orders in production. CRAZY! Life is a little hectic right now. Good news for all of you, I am trying to be better about photographing my work to share.
Today I have what I call the Stephanie crib set. Stephanie is a fun and bubbly mother-to-be who came to me with aspirations of a bold pink, gray and black nursery. I have to say, I meet a lot of mothers who fall into the I bet we would be friends category and Stephanie is one of those moms. Her personality is magnetic and she just draws you in.
Below are a few pictures of the fabrics we used and her bedding set. We trimmed all the bumpers in pink grosgrain ribbon and lined the inside of some bumpers in white minky.  The crib skirt is a peony pink dupioni silk. I wish I had a picture of the drapes we made, oh well maybe later. Enjoy!

Befor and After Part 2: My Built-in aka The Beast

This Before beast you see below was always slated for demo. But then it came time to take down the beast and well, it did not budge. Nope, not one bit. My husband took a sledge hammer to it and it bounced back. I am totally serious; the sledge hammer ricocheted off the built-in.

After the laughter subsided, we scratched our heads for some time as we figured out how to update this monster and make it aesthetically pleasing and suitable for modern electronics.

We started with paneling the back with brown fiber board to cover the tongue and groove back and give it a more custom look. Then we closed up the center column to make it appear as one custom piece and added simple molding detail to the doors. You may also notice we took out two shelves to the left so the flat screen could be added.

I painted the back of the bookcase Benjamin Moore's match to Ralph Lauren's Blue Shale. Ben M's color is called Atmospheric and we added large 8" Felicity Pulls in polished nickel from Restorations Hardware.

Not too shabby if I don't say so myself.  At least she'll do for a while.  We have far too many other projects in our dated dwelling to fixate on this one.  By the way I have to add, I am cannot style a room worth a damn.  The bookcase items are my very best attempt.  I need to hire an interior stylist to help with my home.
