Chic on the Cheap

Hey friends, have you been to Target lately?  I was there for a few items and stumble upon this beauty.

Instantly I thought of the Tory Burch pom pom tote she had earlier this spring/summer.  Obviously the two bags aren't that similar, but it still has the cute straw pom pom accent and in my opinion a bit more subdued of a look.  I'm a die hard Tory fan, but here I prefer good old Tarjay.  Plus there's about a $300 savings, my checking account can breath a sigh of relief. 

New Baubles, Bling and Boots

I'm excited to share with you a few new purchases I've made recently.  Oh, and as you can see I'm an Instagram Sistah so follow along if you'd like, vcwalton.


First I just bought this precious love ring at Nordstroms and I was super excited when I spotted it.  I love all different versions everyone has pinned like crazy, but not the prices.  I'm all about investment jewelery, but not for small trendy trinkets.  Only $28, thank you Nordi!



Next, my fabulous new Loeffler Randall rain boots arrived.  My friend Christi from P is for Party had these first and I couldn't get them out of my head.  She has them in green, and I just purchased the taupe color.  They were 50% off and are so comfortable and stylish.  Please let it rain!

And lastly, I love my new minty/teal hued earrings from Kendra Scott.  Also a wonderful purchase from Nordstroms.  Here I am breaking them in and I couldn't resist a pic.  I bought the smaller size since the large felt very heavy.  Plus I'm a little weird about heavy earrings and paranoid my lobes will stretch. 

Check out my guest bath wallpaper.  I love the Farrow and Ball Lotus paper in charleston gray.  It was a total splurge that was worth every penny.  That room makes me happy. 

Coach Fall 2012

Coach is launching a new line for fall 2012 by revamping several of it's old Legacy classics and I say it's about time!  I've grown tired of the same old monogrammed in your face C designs and have longed for more classic elegant styles.  They've kept the sturdy smooth leather and clean lines and added a rainbow of new colors and oversized clutches.  I'm loving the cobalt blue, kelly green and orange bags. 

I'm in need of a good crossbody bag and I've been eyeing the Classic Shoulder bag in orange, but I just might have to wait and preview the new line when it launches August 1.  Here's a peak, I think you'll be excited too.

I'm really excited about the oversized Universal  Envelope Clutch seen on several celebrities at their launch party.  I'm jonesing for the Kelly green one.

Man Flowers for The Big 4-0

My friend Mike turns 40 today and to help him celebrate I'm giving him man flowers.  I originally got this idea from Pinterest see it here, but I decide to take it to the next level.

I took a galavinized pail and filled it with Jack Daniels, Cohibas and Pop Rocks (think about it).  Obiviously this gift is not PG and intended for Adults only.  All it took was hot glue, popcicle sticks, sand to weight the pail down and crinkle stuffing.  You could modify this gift for any man, just add his favorites and maybe a gag item or too.

Instagram Update

Hi friends!  I am alive, just been working on my other jobs - mom, wife, business owner.  So to fill you in, here's a little Instagram Update.  Which I love btw.  Christi Chase peaked my curiosity about this cool app and needless to say it's addictive.

Been doing a little shopping and I'm obsessed with my new Ikat shorts from the Gap.   

Also a little consumed with Dogeared necklaces.  Here's one my friend Michelle is wearing.

In spite of my hectic schedule, I made time to pamper myself.  I love my neon nails pedicure.

 

LOTS of mom duties like gymnastics class and school field trips.  She's itty bitty but she's mighty.

Mommy and Me Summer Sandals

I don't intentionally buy shoes for my daughters to match me, but sometimes the shoe stars a line and I get lucky.  You may remember the matching ballet flats I scored and wrote about here. 

Well friends it happened again!  I bought these sandals from Nine West for spring/summer and a couple of weeks later I found coordinating sandals for my girls from Target.

How cute are these kid versions?  Yet another shopping high was experienced that day.

Hello Again

Hi friends!  I've been a busy lady lately with work, kids and life.  This weekend was a gorgeous one here in Houston and the family and I took full advantage.  Today we hit the tennis club for a little family match.  It was my 5 year old and me against daddy.  Of course daddy can play pro if we wanted, so the two against one still put us at a disadvantage.  But we tried! 

Here's our future Maria Sharapova if daddy has his way.  Ask him and his dream is to have his girls be the next Williams sisters.

She's definitely on trend with her neon Addidas tennis shirt.  She was hard to miss on the court today.
